Bob J. Nash is an Arkansas-based consultant working with corporate, non-profit and political clients. Most recently, he served as a Senior Consultant with James Lee Witt Associates (JLWA) focusing on government relations for private sector companies and business development for JLWA’s emergency management services.
Before joining JLWA, Bob worked in presidential politics as a deputy campaign manager for Hillary Rodham Clinton where he was responsible for recruiting former political appointees to assist with policy development, fundraising, voter outreach, and surrogate speaking.
Prior to the 2008 Presidential election, he served as Vice Chairman of the ShoreBank Corporation in Chicago, IL - the first and leading community development bank holding company in the country. At ShoreBank, he chaired and led three of the corporation’s non-profit affiliates around the country.
Bob was appointed as Under Secretary of Rural & Community Development at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA.) during the Clinton Administration. As Under Secretary of Rural & Community Development at USDA, he managed 12,000 employees and the USDA’s 8 billion dollar housing, electric, telephone, business, and public facility loan and grant programs. He also served as senior advisor to the Secretary of Agriculture on improving the effectiveness of policies and programs impacting the growth and development of rural communities.
He served from 1995-2001 as Assistant to the President and Director of Presidential Personnel for the White House where he directed the recruitment, nomination, and confirmation of presidential appointees for the last six years of the Clinton Administration.
Before his white house career, Bob served as Governor Bill Clinton’s senior executive Assistant for economic development. He also served as president of the Arkansas Development Finance Authority, a cabinet agency responsible for finacing housing, infrastrure, and business development. Bob served for a number of years as Vice President of the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation in Little Rock, Arkansas where he was responsible for administrative operations and grant making to non-profits and public institutions.
Bob says he is most proud of his family in Texarkana, AR and of the giant footsteps he’s tried to walk in during his 40-year public service career. He is married to former presidential diarist and author Janis F. Kearney. They have three children (Creshelle, Eric and Darryl), and three grandchildren (Erica, Sana’a and Darryl III)
